Your Water Is the Problem. We're the Fix.

Las Vegas tap water averages 291–304 mg/L hardness — some of the hardest municipal water in the country. That mineral load eats your detergent before it ever touches your clothes. FabricNerd builds detergents that are formulated for your water, not against it.

Hard Reset — Washing Machine Descaling Pod

Your washing machine has been accumulating mineral scale from every load you've ever run in hard water. Hard Reset is a single-use descaling pod designed specifically for extreme-hardness machines — not the generic 150 ppm tablets everyone else sells. Step 1: Hard Reset your machine. Step 2: Hardwater Hero your clothes.

  • Format: Single-use pod
  • Target: Machines running on 300+ ppm water
  • Chemistry: Triple chelation stack + anti-redeposition polymer + TAED bleach activator
  • Status: Formulation in progress — launching alongside Hardwater Hero

More SKUs are in the lab. Each one is formulated for a specific water profile — not watered-down for the national average.

Who's behind this?

I'm Ken — a Marine veteran living in Las Vegas. When I moved here, my clothes turned gray, my towels went crunchy, and I couldn't figure out why my detergent stopped working. Turns out, it never started: at 300 ppm hardness, standard detergents are essentially neutralized before they touch fabric.

So I went deep into the chemistry. What started as a personal obsession became Fabric Nerd — a one-person operation building laundry products that match the water they'll actually be used in. Every formula, every dosing chart, and every recommendation on this site comes from that work.

Patent pending. Five provisional patent applications filed, including a garment-count dosing system and a water-chemistry-matched detergent potency engine. This isn't a white-label rebrand — it's new IP.
